Leaving Madison

Posted by Eddie Oyola at Sep 3, 2014 1:22PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

To those who knew and those who didn’t I wanted to share that I will no longer be the aquatics director nor the head coach of the Madison dolphins swim team. I have resigned my post to take on a new challenge as the aquatics director of the Kips Bay Boys & Girls club on Randall Avenue . This ride was a great 13 years in which over 500 plus swimmers joined the team and the couple of thousand of whom took swim lessons. It was a tough decision to make and to leave behind what we all built was difficult. The aquatics staff will also be leaving as well as we attempt to bring the same program with new changes to the new place. All swimmers are welcomed to join us and info about registration and requirements will be below. Thank you all in helping the Madison Dolphins what it was. More than swimming, but a family.

Kips Boys & Girls club
1930 Randall Avenue
Bronx, NY 10473

Practice schedule/ parents meeting will be announced after I begin on Sept. 15th

Update:

Once again our girl Luz has done again. Last month she was selected as the New York State Boys & Girls Club Youth of the Year. Sometime in July She will compete for the North East Region and Puerto Rico for more scholarship money and a chance to win the Nation Award. With winnig the next step she can also meet Presdient Barack Obama. Lets show her our support. So far she has earned $11,000.00 in scholarship money and an IPAD for school.

Luz Negron after being selected as the Smilow Clubhouse Youth of The Year is now the Winner of The Madison Youth of the Year. She beat out three other candidates from the Columbus, Navy Yard and Thomas Murphy Clubhouses. Good Luck to Luz as she now sets her sights on the New York State Youth of the Year event. The Youth of the Year event is a national Boys & Girls Club event that pits all of the best youth from around the country to see which individual benefited from their BGCA experience. Check out the Madison Page with Luz’s bio.
